FIFA 2018 FANS’ FESTIVAL

FIFA

International Federation of Association Football (fr. Fédération Internationale de Football Association, abbreviated FIFA, in Russian transliteration – FIFA) is the main football organization, which is the largest international governing body in football, futsal and beach football. The headquarters of FIFA is in the Swiss city of Zurich.

There are all football tournaments of a global scale, including the FIFA World Cup, a similar tournament among women, youth and teen-age tournaments, the Confederations Cup and the club world championship under the auspices of FIFA.

Every year FIFA presents the Player of the Year award. The award presentation takes place at the annual ceremony and serves as a sign of recognition of personal merit, as well as the success of the club and the national team.

In 2004, FIFA organized the “Match of the Century” between the teams of France and Brazil, the best teams of the last decade. In addition, FIFA has authorized Pele, the best player of all time, to create a list of the best players of all time. This list, called “FIFA 100”, included 50 players who had not yet completed their careers at the time of publication (among them there was one woman), and 75 players of the past (including Pele himself, but not including any deceased person, among these 75 players also there was one woman). Initially, it was planned that the list would include 100 players, but Pele said that he could not select just 100 players.
